What This Covers

This page explains what data may be collected when you use this site, subscribe to the newsletter, or contact me.

Newsletter Subscriptions

If you subscribe to the newsletter, your email address is processed by the newsletter provider (currently Buttondown). I do not sell subscriber data.

  • Purpose: Send updates and new article notifications

GDPR (EU/EEA, including Germany)

If you are in the EU/EEA, your personal data is processed in line with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). For newsletter subscriptions, the legal basis is your consent under Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR.

You can withdraw consent at any time (for example via the unsubscribe link in newsletter emails). Withdrawal does not affect processing carried out before withdrawal.

Your GDPR Rights

You have the right to request:

  • Access to your personal data (Art. 15 GDPR)
  • Rectification of inaccurate data (Art. 16 GDPR)
  • Erasure ("right to be forgotten", Art. 17 GDPR)
  • Restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR)
  • Data portability (Art. 20 GDPR)
  • Objection to processing where applicable (Art. 21 GDPR)
  • Withdrawal of consent at any time (Art. 7(3) GDPR)

Contact Requests

If you contact me by email or form, your message and contact details are used only to respond to your request and follow up as needed.

Data Processors and International Transfers

Newsletter data is processed by the selected email provider (currently Buttondown) as a processor. Where data is transferred outside the EU/EEA, appropriate safeguards are expected (for example, standard contractual clauses) under Art. 46 GDPR.
